ROTFL. Selling THOSE on eBay, too. Oh, for the days of Bill Mantlo again (serviceable plot-driven stories which occasionally made one think)… need to check out Peter David’s run, too…

Was the last panel just a last ditch attempt to stave off “I totally agree with this strip! World War Hulk was a deep and moving story!” posts?

I mean…I definitely can’t say that Loeb’s Hulk is a GOOD book. But it’s not offensively bad, it’s just dumb. Dumb and occasionally fun.

World War Hulk was, when you think about it, just as dumb. But at the same time, it was so dour that it almost wasn’t fun at all.

have to admit i haven’t read it, just what i’ve heard from my friends

Ah, the critic who has no idea what he’s talking about. Reminds me of the guy who kept insisting on arguing about “plot holes” in a story he only “pieced together from discussions on the board”. Every argument he made was countered by “No, they explained that in the book.”

The difference is that World War Hulk was enjoyable.

Me, I’m totally cool huddling in that corner over there with my run of Peter David’s Hulk.
