So Marvel had a fashion show during CCI this year. Well fashion show in that it featured clothes based on their superheroes.
As you can see, it was more just models (eerily similar looking models) in tight skimpy costumes. Heck even Marvel’s own Director of Merchandising, Damon Nee, agreed that is was more about the girls than the clothes.
Traffic stopped all around the booth as fans craned their necks to take in the costumes… Well, the models in the costumes.
And I bet Marvel wonders why they can’t reach more female readers. Or maybe they just don’t care anymore.

So at their CCI panel, Oni Press announced the fifth volume of the Scott Pilgrim series. It’s called Scott Pilgrim vs. the Universe and is coming out February 4th in time for NYCC.
I guess I can wait 6 months for more awesomeness that is this series by Bryan Lee O’Malley.
Too help pass the time, here is the song by Plumtree that inspired Bryan to write the books.
I’ve been doing a bunch of work on the comic recently. I’ve got about seven strips in various stages of production. Some are pretty much colored and done, some are at the inked stage (well ink in that I draw it in PhotoShop and with a Wacom), and some are at the sketch/layout stage.
Who knows if I get comfortable enough with the style of the comic, Sean and I may try to take the comic’s schedule to twice a week. Maybe Wednesdays and Saturdays/Sundays.
